Purplish Records is an artist-run label started by Mikey Coltun and run by Mikey and Mark O’Donnell with Can Misirlioglu as the head designer. Purplish dedicated to releasing current adventurous artists from around the world. Formed to be a label that releases artists from outside North America and Europe, Purplish focuses on artists that push traditional music to create something original.  The label was conceived as a way to heighten the idea of what under-represented countries can achieve. 

Purplish Records releases tapes in batches. The artists paired are from different parts of the world, different cultures and traditions, often speak different languages, and have separate ideologies. However, they share at least one major thing in common.
